The History of Drunk Black History
Produced and hosted by comedian Brandon Collins (SXSW), “Drunk Black History” is a live show and podcast that began in 2019 and celebrates the incredible achievements and untold stories of Black historical figures—all through the lens of humor and storytelling.
These stories are shared by comedians, radio personalities, and various experts in economics and sociology. All of this is done while they are slightly inebriated to provide some levity to these sometimes challenging biographies.
“Drunk Black History” has been featured in the New York Comedy Festival, Afros and Audio Podcast Festival, Boston Globe, New York Times, TimeOut NY, Afro.com, and The Infatuation.
Previous guests include Sam Jay (HBOMax), Dr. Andre M. Perry (CNN), Michelle Buteau (Netflix), Jordan Temple (Abbott Elementary), D. Woods (Danity Kane), Jackie Summers (founder of Sorel Liqueur), and Dulce Sloan (The Daily Show).
